Marine Environmental Protection

RMC has completed about 50 projects with respect to Marine Environmental Protection (MEP). These projects either had MEP as their sole objective being followed by specific conclusions and initiatives or MEP was an integral part within a larger problem. Projects include environmental impact assessments, environmental audits as well as those from the following sectors: ports, maritime transport, coastal protection, inland waterways, oil spill prevention and combat.

In addition, the following fields of activity cover:

·      Institutions:

Institution building and strengthening, environmental legislation, monitoring and control systems, preventative actions and preparedness, training, financing, feasibility studies

·      Marine Environment:

National legislation and its adaptation to international treaties, surveying, data gathering, assessment of ecological systems

·      Coastal Protection:

Coastal engineering, securing and restoring beaches.
